Zone 16 Camp 2016
It was a busy and fun week for 6 of our Wamboin Pony Club riders at Zone 16 camp this April and their support team of parents and siblings. Bungendore Showground was the venue. Over 200 riders and horses from around our Zone 16 area spent Sunday to Saturday attending 4 riding sessions a day being trained by experienced instructors in every aspect of riding from flatwork to mounted games, showjumping, cross country, polocross, dressage, even horseball. There were sessions in horse massage and horse gymnastics as well. Its a valuable week for horse and rider and the intense instruction helps everyone improve their skills. Camp is also a great place to make friends, sit around the campfire at night, and eat some great meals. We were blessed with good weather and all had a great time. Congratulations to Sammi and Rosemary for their jumping awards, Victoria for dressage and troop award, Rosemary for most improved. Wamboin parents and members helped make the camp a sucess. Thanks go to all who volunteered their time to be Troop leaders, all our parents who helped in the kitchen on duty day and our instructors who helped with instructing throughout the week plus special thanks to Toni Cuthbertson who performed the important and busy role of camp secretary. For a small club we had a good turnout of riders and helpers and all had a great time.
