The week from Sunday 13th April saw 180 riders and horses decend on Bungendore Showground for the annual Zone 16 Pony Club Camp. This year 9 Wamboin Riders attended with parents and helpers. The week was hectic but rewarding as the time was spent participating in lessons covering all aspects of horsmanship. The days begin around 6am for the trip to the feed shed then attending to preparing horses for the days riding. A hearty breakfast from the kitchen follows then its into the first lessons of the day which range from flatwork to jumping, cross country, polocross and much more. Riders gain more experience at a week of camp than months of normal riding. Professional instructors from various riding events are on hand to pass on their skills to young riders. The week saw some tumbles and a few battered riders but considering 180 horses and riders were involved mostly it all went well. All our Wamboin troop had a great time. Congratulations to all riders: Sammi, Matthew, Caitlin, Abbey, Victoria, Rosemary, Elle, Claudia and Kaila you all did a great job at representing our club. Thanks also to the parents who assisted with troop leading, Instructing and lending a hand assisting to make the camp a success.
