Last weekend, Belconnen held their double chance sporting gymkhana. At a very civilised starting time of 10.00am, four riders from Wamboin took part - Nicole Smith, Katie, Lauren and Penny Slater. The event consisted of nine events - the six state sporting events as well as herringbone, keyhole and monte carlo. More than 50 riders competed in 7 different age groups and the fastest time from their two attempts was counted. All riders enjoyed themselves despite the heat and the wind. The day provided the girls with an opportunity to practise for the state sporting championships to be held in Gundagai in April. Nicole Smith, Lauren Slater and Penny Slater were champions of their respective age groups and Katie Slater came second in her age group.
