Rally Day 9th August 2015
A spectacular winters day greeted Wamboin riders this past Sunday for our first club rally day for August. After the usual gear check and warm up one group headed to the jumping arena for a good workout with Robyn and riders brushed up on their jumping skills. The other group worked with Leanne on their flatwork. The great thing about our club is that we have a really good mix of young and older riders, all of varying experience and skills. Riding groups have a real mix of ages and that means that young and older riders get to work together which makes for a really nice club atmosphere. One of our Mounted Games teams the Wamboin Wildcats are preparing for the Zone 16 event this weekend, so spent some time practicing their games skills under the watchful eye of one of our senior riders Lauren Slater. Lauren and sister Katie have just made the State Mounted Games team – so well done girls. It was a busy Sunday for all as each group ran through the Jump course, practiced some games and even had a go at riding bareback in preperation for another upcoming event. Lunch also included a talk about Parelli horse handling from a Wamboin local. Altogether a sucessful and enjoyable rally Sunday.
